Half-ton to heavy-duty pickups from 252 dealers. F-150, Silverado, RAM, Tacoma, and more.
Used trucks are the tightest market in the 252. They sell fast, hold value, and the good ones don't sit on lots long. Half-ton trucks - F-150, Silverado 1500, RAM 1500 - make up most of the inventory. They tow 7,000-13,000 lbs depending on configuration, haul 1,500-2,000 lbs in the bed, and can double as a daily driver. Mid-size trucks like the Toyota Tacoma and Chevy Colorado tow less (3,500-7,700 lbs) but are easier to park and cheaper on gas.
Cab and bed size matter more than most buyers realize. A crew cab short bed fits four adults and a toolbox. An extended cab long bed fits two adults comfortably and 8 feet of lumber. Decide what you're hauling - people or materials - and that narrows the search fast. Also check whether the truck is 2WD or 4WD. In NC, 2WD trucks are $2,000-$4,000 cheaper and work fine if you're not going off-road or dealing with mountain weather.
